Timon, Waldemar Hercules [the Thirteenth]

History

Waldemar Hercules Timon was born ten years after the dissolution of the Council of Three. As he grew up, he witnessed his father’s efforts to entice Lillith to once again reform the Council and put a stop to the chaos of the Great War. Waldemar absorbed this same dream. When his father finally stopped pestering Lillith in the 1930s, Waldemar had been introduced to her. Over the course of decades, the cautious initial acquaintance developed into a true friendship. Waldemar even calls Lillith “Lil” as a diminutive put-down to give her a friendly jab. Lillith repects him for not treating her as a mythological creature, and Waldemar knows when not to push to hard.

In 1957 Waldemar married Mary Louise Stone. She was not a witch of any kind, but one assumes she knew about her husband’s Netherworld activities. The couple had two children, Nevile and Nova. Waldemar’s happiness did not last forever, though. In 1980 his wife died in a drowning accident. He never remarried.

On the plus side, however, Waldemar achieved a small measure of success in his life-long quest to restore the Council of Three when Lillith emerged from her self-imposed exile in 1966. He saw it as a first step in getting her to look outward again.

Eventually, both his children married and had children of their own. Nova has two girls, Phoebe Una Fletcher born in 1991 and Kathrine Leocadia Fletcher born in 1994. Nevile has one boy, Paul Gilbert Timon born in 1997.

At some point, after the sharpness of his grief over losing his wife was past, Waldemar met a woman from Japan, Hyun Akemi Tamiko. They hit it off rather well. He was not even surprised when Kemi revealed that she was both a Japanese were-fox, a kitsune, and an Ancient. The two continue to have a very good relationship.

Late in 2000 CE, Melpomene, Chelsea, and Lillith portalled into the middle of his fishing. From this incident he saw a chance of reforming the Council of Three in his lifetime. Since the Council’s restoration, he has dedicated his attention to that duty. He is more compassionate than Lillith when Harry calls a Council meeting after the 9-11 attack.

Personality

Timon the Thirteenth, as he is known within the Council of Three, looks for all the world like an old man in his seventies who enjoys fly fishing better than just about anything on earth. The odd thing is, despite the fact that he is a noble wizard, this happens to be true.

Timon is gentle and wise. He is descended from a long line of powerful wizards who respect magick above all things. He believes magick to be an entity, a being that one should talk to, and not merely use it to one’s own ends.
