Simmons, Sarah Jayne (SJ)

History

We don’t know much about SJ except that she prefers punk/metal bands rather than the more traditional rap and pop her peers are into.

She works as the night-shift DJ at WEDN-AM in the small coastal town of Haven; she likes it that way.

She considers Jubal and Wald her friends. Jubal, because she works with him and they talk at times, and Wald for unknown reasons. She may feel ambivalent about Chelsea. When she arrived for Cynthia’s wedding, SJ said, “Bad news has come to town.” Yet when they actually meet there are glad cries of “Girlfriend!!!” from both women.

SJ knew Chelsea immediately, which implies SJ has lived in Haven since before 1996 when Chelsea went to New York City to pursue her art.

Personality

SJ is spunky and has a strong will of her own. To cross her is to have your teeth shattered, but few really make her mad. She appears to be relatively content with her life.
