Wilhelmina Murray was born in England of a solid middle-class family. Mina, as she was known to her friends, was an intelligent girl. In the course of time, she fell in love with Jonathan Harker. They were to be wed in 1888 CE, but a series of bizarre incidents delayed the nuptials.
It is not certain how much of Bram Stoker’s book Dracula, or The Undead corresponds to events in the CotC universe. What is certain is that van Helsing, Harker, and associates did destroy Dracula. And Mina did marry Harker.
For some ten years they had a happy marriage, marred only by occasional terrifying flashbacks to dealing with the most powerful Tepes-vampire. In 1898, however, Dracula’s first fledgling and lover, the Tepes-vampire Morana, managed to gather Dracula’s ashes and restored him by ritual and infusion of blood. Though Morana loved Dracula, she could not be with him. Dracula acceded to her request that he not follow her, but it plunged him into a depression that caused him to blame God for all his troubles. With his restoration, Dracula’s spell of enticement on Mina reactivated, and she left her husband to return to the vampire’s side.
Dracula did not turn her, for she is not a vampire even now. He did however infuse her with some type of magick that retards her ageing.
Dracula’s crusade against Christianity involved various humans and brought him to the attention of the Council of Three.
In 1915 CE, Dracula was destroyed again, this time by Lillith. Undoubtedly Mina was nearby at that time. With Dracula’s destruction, the enticement spell again lost its power. By this time, though, Jonathan Harker had died, heartbroken at his wife’s desertion. Lost, confused, and not knowing what to do, Mina threw herself on Lillith’s mercy. In turn, Lillith was not adverse to acquiring a servant.
Lillith soon went into seclusion, taking Mina with her. During this time, the woman had plenty of time to think. The love she had for Dracula was still active, and she began to plot for her love’s resurrection. When Waldemar Hercules Timon started to prod Lillith to rejoin the world, Mina added her voice to his. She knew Timon’s plan was to get Lillith interested in reinstating the Council of Three. It was only an active Council that could open the Vault containing the ashes of Dracula.
Over the years, Mina proved herself so useful that she rose from mere servant to become Lillith’s right-hand woman. In 1990 CE in a meeting between the leaders of the two vampire branches, Lillith and Morana, Morana recognised Mina. The two met and began to plot. (The likelihood is that Lillith was aware of these meetings, and thought the plotting to be both amusing and futile.) Mina’s position of authority with Lillith allowed her to keep Morana informed of any developments. Meanwhile, Morana could recruit both Tepes-vampires as prime movers and Nosferatu as cannon-fodder to her cause.
And so they waited until someone should decide to reinstate the Council of Three.
When Chelsea killed Deus Lupus, Gustov and Morana became interested in her. They were sure this woman would be instrumental in restoring the Council and letting them get Dracula’s ashes. While Gustov kept an eye on Chelsea, Morana got in touch with Mina. Finally in November of 2000 CE, their patience was rewarded. Corrine Melpomene Chattan and Chelsea Chattan were on a mission to restore the Council. They found Lillith and confronted her. Mina was overjoyed by the situation, and immediately put Tepes-vampire agents on the trail.
They came close, but with Lillith there, they really had no chance. Lillith rained down burning hail on them, destroying most of the Tepes-vampire agents. One made it into the Council Vault. Its heart was torn out by Lillith.
Thus ended the plot.
It seems likely that Lillith was aware of the plot
right from the point of the first meeting between Morana and Mina.
However, since Lillith finds the whole situation highly amusing,
she has not seen fit to curb it in any way.
Indeed, Morana and Mina continue to plot to take advantage
of any situation that would help them raise Dracula again.
