Agnes has not always been a witch. Twenty-some years ago she was a Christian and worked for an evangelist at a small church in Georgia. The evangelist seemed to be a genuine healer, but Agnes later found out that he was a wizard who had turned to Christ.
Disillusioned Agnes left the church and moved to be with her ailing sister in North Carolina. Her sister lived on a farm near the small coastal town of Haven. A year later her sister passed away and left the farm to Agnes.
While in town one day and searching for some herbs, Agnes bumped into another lady about her age. Her name was Ruth. Ruth’s husband and son had passed away several years earlier. The two struck up a friendship.
A couple of years into their friendship Agnes confided in Ruth what she had found out about the evangelist she had worked for. Ruth then told Agnes that she herself was a witch, and told Agnes that neither she nor the evangelist meant harm. Agnes gradually accepted the facts and became intrigued with the Craft herself.
Soon after joining Ruth’s Coven, Agnes began to have little pain and ailments. There was nothing harmful about them, but they were frustrating. Soon, however Agnes learned that these ailments could tell the future or give her insight into what was going on in the Netherworld. No one has been able to explain the ailments, but Agnes accepts them as a gift from the God.
Since Ruth was needed in the actual spell, Agnes took the lead in the ritual to control Chelsea’s transformations. She also explained to Chelsea that she was not the cause of the unusual snowfall that occurred shortly after Chelsea moved back to Haven.
Agnes is a human witch with an odd quirk. Small ailments about her body can tell her if something is going to happen or is happening. For example, if her hip begins to hurt, then it will snow. Or if her ears burn, then someone is using a spell for unsavory purposes.
She is advanced enough in the Craft to take the lead in casting complex spells with the coven.
A caring and practical person.
