In 1958 CE, Harry Elpidius (Latin: Hope) Conroy was born into the family of the Wolf-Councillor. His great-grandfather, Lord Senan Conner, had been the Wolf-Councillor when World War One broke out. When Senan was murdered and the Wolf-Councillor heir, George Beowulf, hidden away, Lillith was demoralised and allowed Marcus Lupus Ferox to dissolve the Council of Three. (See Council, Dissolution.)
The hidden heir was given a new name and family. Harry was grandson to the heir. Although Harry knew about the Council of Three and asked about it, neither George, his grandfather, nor his father would talk about the subject. As a result, Harry grew up without knowing any of the traditions or procedures of the Council. This may be just as well. Harry is self-described as a regular guy, and not a diplomat. Timon believes that is a good reason for Harry to be on the Council. Someone with more experience at political intrigue would fail the “regular guy” test.
With a career on the Council seemingly not in the cards, Harry grew up in a pretty normal fashion. For five years he lived next to Chelsea, but neither knew the other was a morph.
Harry’s grandfather died in 1991. (It is obvious that his father is dead by 2000 CE.)
In due course, Harry married Barbara, who knows about Harry’s situation as a morph. The two have a daughter (born 1996).
When Timon, Lillith, Chelsea, and Melpomene came to him with the proposal to reinstate the Council of Three, he was quite hesitant at first, not knowing whether it would be a good idea for someone with no qualifications other than genetics to be on the Council. Finally, however, he agreed when his wife posed no objections. She fully supports the effort to reinstate the Council of Three, but feels that Harry is a “great guy” not merely regular.
In the aftermath of the terrorist attack on the United States
on 2001-09-11, Harry called a Council meeting to try and get them
involved.
However, both Timon (politely) and Lillith (not so politely)
maintained that the problems were purely human matters
and the Council should not and would not get involved.
The much older wizard, however, was still able to help
the wolf-morph with the more human problem.
