Chattan, Corrine Elizabeth Melpomene

History

Corrine was born in 1976, only weeks after her father was killed by a drunk driver. She was also born under a Curse, carried through her father’s bloodline.

After a year of struggling, with two young children, her mother agreed to marry Ben Monroe when he proposed. Corrine never really got along with her step-father.

In 1986, Chelsea, Corrine, and Cynthia went on their first solo Hallowe’en outing. At that time, their grandmother Ruth took the opportunity to introduce them to magick. Corrine was more interested in studying the Craft than Chelsea. Ruth Chattan handled her training in those early years.

Five years later, Corrine ran away from home at fifteen because she could not stand her step-father. She ended up in San Francisco and attempted to commit suicide. Her family thought she was dead at that time. However, she survived and manifested as an Alpha-Morph, leopard. At that time she encountered the Fire Wizard Jacob Livingston, who became her mentor in magick. To symbolise her figurative death and rebirth, she took the name Melpomene (“Mel”).

Since then she has been friends with Lillith, been the lover of Deus Lupus, was involved with the Foundation (as an assassin), learned a great deal about matters military, and became involved in the Great War on the side of the moderates.

Corrine was thought dead, killed by Deus Lupus. Due to the Chattan Curse, Corrine could not be really killed by him. She returned less than a year later, with a plan to restore the Council of Three.

With that impossible mission safely accomplished, she disappeared from her family’s lives again until Eleanor showed up to cause havoc.

Powers

Corrine has great magickal power, and through spells, chants, and so forth can wield great power even in morph form. She is an exceptional specimen of both morph and practitioner worlds.

She started learning from her grandmother, Ruth. More recently, Jacob Livingston has been her mentor.

She also has more mundane skills in the area of strategy, tactics, and weapons handling.

Corrine is also extremely wealthy. Both the business of real estate and assassination appear to be quite lucrative. Her wealth makes it possible for her to use money as a weapon as well.

Personality

A free spirit, she could not stand living under the authority of her step-father, Ben Monroe. Her decision to leave home forced her to grow up quickly, and in some ways she seems more mature than her older sister Chelsea.
